De-winterize your horse trailer for spring fun!
When the horses start getting restless and wild flowers pop up in the pasture, that means riding fun is just around the corner!
If you’re sure that freezing temperatures are done for the year, it’s time to prepare your trailer for Spring. De-winterizing takes a few minutes now but makes it easy to hit the road running later.
Our good friends at Lakota Trailers made this wonderful step-by-step video tutorial, showing you how to clear your water system after winter storage and prep it for use. Even though the video below shows a Lakota trailer, yours is likely to have similar systems and fittings.
The video covers:
- Re-installing fittings removed for winter
- Flushing anti-freeze from the fresh water system
- Activating the hot water heater
So grab some popcorn (and a wrench!) and enjoy the show!
Now remember, trailers are all a little bit the same and a little bit different, so be sure to read your owner’s manual for details on flushing your water system. If in doubt, follow the instructions in your manual!
Take a few minutes now to flush your tanks and plumbing. With a water system that’s ready to go, you’ll on the road in a jiffy!
